0.1.31

Tell Bing and other search engines which pages changed with IndexNow. The agent now adds redirects when it moves, archives or deletes a page, and can put a component inside another component. Publish shows site settings as one row, and the sitemap dates each page by its last content change.

Added

IndexNow

Splitleaf can now tell Bing and other search engines which pages changed after each publish to your live site, so they find new and changed pages sooner. To turn it on, open Site settings, then Integrations, and turn on IndexNow. You do not need an account, only a site address. The card shows the last send. Google does not use IndexNow.

Agent redirects

The agent can now add, change and remove redirects. When it moves, archives or deletes a page or a CMS item, it adds a redirect from the old address, so old links and search results still work. You see these redirects in Site settings, then Redirects.

Changed

Content

Text in a CMS item now shows bold, italic and code as formatting, the same as links. Type or paste bold, italic or code, and the text changes to formatting at once.

Sitemap

Each page in the sitemap now has the date when its content last changed. A design change does not change the date. A page that was live before this update gets a date at its next content change. When you open sitemap.xml in a browser, you now see the plain file. On a site with more than one language, the links between languages are now only in each page, where search engines read them.

Removed

Change frequency

Site settings and page settings no longer have Change frequency and Priority for the sitemap. Google and Bing do not use these values. You do not need to do anything.
